The Podiatry department at Ashford hospital is located on the ground floor of the Clinical Block in the physiotherapy / rheumatology area.

The Podiatry department at St. Peter’s hospital is located at the Stephanie Marks Diabetes Resource Centre.

May have been damaged or is of deformed shape) Refer patients to Podiatry central booking office for an application form and prioritisation into a P.E.T. (Patient Education Talk) and where appropriate for an assessment/treatment at local clinic.

Diabetic with a breakdown / ulceration / on the foot that needs urgent assessment and care. Diabetics with urgent foot problems e.g. ulceration, can be fast tracked in to ‘ACUTE’ foot clinics across the district via the Podiatry central booking office on 01932 570607.

Gait Analysis and Biomechanical foot pains / problems - e.g. Heel pain; Arch pain; Shin splints; Painful flat feet / high arched feet; Achilles tendonitis; Sport injuries etc. Refer patients to ‘Biomechanics’ for a nail surgery assessment at:

Fungal infections of skin and nails Advise OTC antifungal creams/sprays/powders for skin. Advise OTC lacquer for non-matrix involved nail infections. Oral anti-fungal therapy may be indicated if nail matrix involvement.
Foot pathologies e.g. corns, callus, heal fissures, thickened nails, chilblains, clinical symptoms of “at risk foot” e.g. ischaemia, neuropathy, impaired circulation, immuno-suppressed, reduced clotting. Refer to Podiatry central booking office for application form and prioritisation into a PET and where appropriate an assessment/treatment at a local clinic.
Long nails Routine nail care falls below the level of treatment offered by the Podiatry Department.
